Overview

The Asháninka nation is the biggest ethnicity of the Peruvian Jungle, an ethnic group very committed to the conservation of the jungle where they live. This is a trip inside this culture, where we are going to share experiences with the native communities and their surroundings – Mountainous Forest and Amazonian Forest (lowlands). We are going to camping inside the deep Jungle Forest, we will explore the magical Samayreni river. All this Trip is made in territories around Otishi National Park. We make a trip by bus, car and boat to reach the heart of the jungle – Rio Tambo – and start our Eco adventure.

LIMA - SATIPO

From Lima in the night we take a bus, In 8 hours we arrive to the Jungle (Satipo) where is starting our adventure into the Andes and amazon ways.

Itinerary

DAY  1 : SATIPO – CCNN BETANIA (ASHANINKAS )

We cross on auto the Mountainous jungle, around 2 hours and arrive to Puerto Ocopa,  where we take a boat in the Perené river, after we arrive to the Tambo river in a Trip of 6 hours for arrive to the CCNN Ashaninka of Betania around the National Park of  OTISHI.

DAY  2 : CCNN BETANIA ( ASHANINKAS)

We explore all the community, an introduction to the area, and we go to the Tambo river for explore and fishing in the river and walk into the jungle to the night.

DAY  3 : CCNN BETANIA ( ASHANINKAS)

We explore all the Samayreni river where is the natural pools of Betania , and camp site into the jungle . We have the opportunity of explore all the biosphere of the Mountainous tropical jungle, to see birds, insects, reptiles and all the interesting jungle life. Also we can to walk into the jungle in the night.

DAY  4: CCNN BETANIA – ( ASHANINKAS )

In the morning we enjoy the Samayreni river swimming or observing the nature, after we take all our camping materials for return to the Community, also we enjoy a traditional food of our family hosting. Later we walk around the Community and go the Tambo river and farms.

DAY 5 : SATIPO – LIMA

In the early morning we go to Tambo river for take our boat to Puerto Ocopa, where we go to cross for return to Satipo, in Satipo we walk around the city and looking for jungle handycrafts. In the night we take our Bus to Lima .

INCLUDE

  • One bagpack (50 a 70 liters) where you will carry all your equipment

  • One daybag (20 to 35 liters)

  • Trekking boots (comfortable)

  • 2 trekking pants (nylon – polyamide – soft cotton)

  • One short pant

  • 3 t-shirts (polyamide– cotton – nylon)

  • 3 socks (cotton – wool)

  • Raining jacket (Gore-Tex – Event)

  • One polar or sweater

  • Flash light –torch

  • Small knife

  • Personal first Aid kit

  • Sandals

  • Sun hat

  • Light gloves

  • Sleeping bag (10°C to -5°C)

  • Sun block cream

  • Mosquito repellent (Deet)

  • Swimming clothes

* We make personalized trips in Andes of Peru; the maximum of participants in our groups is 7 persons.

How to book:

A deposit of 35% must be made to confirm the reservation;

The balance must be paid in dollars or soles (local currency). The total payment must be made no later than 2 day before the start of the trek. In case of non-payment of the balance within the given time, Hidden Perú reserves the right to cancel the reservation. The deposit previously paid and invested in the preparation of the trek are not refundable. The balance settled, no refund is possible because the final budget of the entire trek is definitely invested.

Important notes:

It may be that changes occur the day before or the day of departure. It is depending on the bad weather, the state of the roads and strikes likely to disturb the organization of the hike or to make it dangerous. In these circumstances, Hidden Perú offers you an alternative: either dates or different circuits.

Tourists have an obligation to inform us of their state of health and must bring their own medicines.
