Overview

The “Reserva Paisajística Nor Yauyos Cochas“ Is located in the Central Andes of Perú.
The RPNYC represents the space for the Cordilleras such as Pariacaca and Yauyos.
This is a magnificent territory full of amazing landscapes and living Andean
cultures that remain living around the sacred Mountains, that lived in this area was doing ceremonies to the Apus (Sacred Mountains).
Then the Inkas built roads to connect the settlements between the Mountains and coordinate the ceremonies to their Gods.
Our adventure is to walk in this Inka trail crossing lakes and Sacred Mountains, all this with the support of Llamas carrying our Mountain equipment.
*This circuit start in Huancayo city, then to Pachacayo, Canchayllo, Shutjo
Canyon and Shacshamarca, Mulllucocha and down to Tanta
Mountain. This is an amazing challenge, walking to 5000m high pass,
descending to Miraflores town, the Cañete river valley and ancient Andean
villages.

Itinerary

Day 1: Huancayo or Lima city – Pachacayo community – Canchayllo community – Corivinchos archaelogical site – Shutjo canyon.
Day 2: Corivinchos archaelogical site – Shacshamarca high pass – Escalerayok and Escalera lake – Cave of Cuchimachay with ancient paintings.

Day 3: Cave of Cuchimachay with ancient paintings. – Mullucocha Lake – Atarhuay Lake (Best view of Pariacaca Mountain).
Day 4: Atarhuay Lake (Best view of Pariacaca Mountain – Mullucocha Lake – Pirca Pirca archaeological site – Tanta Andean community.

Day 5: Tanta Andean community- Tanta waterfalls – Piscococha lake – Llica lake.

Day 6: Llica lake – Ticlla Pass 5050m – Miraflores Andean community.

Day 7: Miraflores Andean community – Huaquis archaeological site – Huancaya and Cañete waterfalls – Huancayo or Lima city.

INCLUDE

  • All the private transports (Minivan – Auto) From Huancayo – RPNYC – Return to Huancayo.

  • Hosteling in Tanta and Miraflores, Andean villages.

  • Marco Jurado like Mountain Guide had intensive courses in first helps in wilderness areas with Doctors of the Colorado University – USA.

  • Mountain cooker from 4 participants.

  • Arriero or Llama man that conduce our Llama team.

  • Llamas for carrying our Mountain equipment. Maximum weight for a Llama is 25 kilos.

  • Horse for emergency from the second day.

  • First helps equipment and coordination in emergency evacuation.

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

  • Trekking shoes – trekking boots.

  • 01 polar jacket or sweater.

  • 01 sleeping bag (-5 min. 10 max.).

  • 01 sleeping pad.

  • Raining jacket.

  • 04 changes of t-shirts (Merino, nylon or polyamide)

  • Trekking pants.

  • 01 waterproof pant.

  • 01 wool cap.

  • 01 wool gloves.

  • Sun block.

  • Sun glasses.

  • Sun hat.

  • Personal pharmacy (Please check very well your own medicine).

  • Bagpack (20 to 45 liters) this is for walking.

  • Bagpack (30 to 65 liters) this for the Llama carrying.

  • Flashlight (extra batteries).
    Optional: Trekking poles, binoculars, sandals, snacks (Chocolates, candies, etc).
